Interpreting (or interpretation) is an activity that consists of establishing, either simultaneously or consecutively, oral or manual communications between two or more speakers who are not speaking (or signing) the same language. (en.wikipedia.org).
It is a great pleasure for me to offer my translation and interpreting services. I have been involved in this activity since 1994 when I set up my own translation office and started working as a freelancer. My experience in this area can be described as follows:
As a translator and interpreter I worked for the British Know-How Fund advisers to Bank Zachodni SA located in Wrocław (currently Bank Zachodni WBK). My work covered translation and interpreting services and language tuition both for the Bank staff and for the advisers. Apart from economic vocabulary my core experience and skills are in the following areas:
Between 1994 and 1997 I also worked for industry experts engaged by the Know-How Fund in conjunction with the Central Europe Trust involved in restructuring activities undertaken in various Polish enterprises (among others I worked for a linen industry expert and translated reports submitted by experts from the British Glass Company).
In 1997 and 1998 I worked on a freelance basis for the Solutions Company – a London-based consulting firm. In 1997 my work covered mainly translation and interpreting services with regard to training courses organised by the company for Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego and Bank Gospodarki Żywnościowej. The courses covered the following areas: asset and liability management, loan monitoring, business evaluation and project management.
In 1997 I worked on a freelance basis for Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego. My work covered translation and interpreting services with regard to housing and mortgage issues.
Between July 1999 and January 2001 I worked for FORUM - Zachodnie Towarzystwo Funduszy Inwestycyjnych SA (FORUM - West Investment Fund Management Company) - a Wrocław-based entity - a part of Forum Financial Group Poland.
For the last few years I have been co-operating among others with representatives of Maxwell Stamp PLC, with EMC Medical Institute and Centima manufacturing company located in Wrocław. I also translate for the School of Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners – a Wrocław University entity.
